Most of his writings are Southern Gothic, focusing on sexuality and race. Tarkington also won the Pulitzer twice, but no Nobel Prize. The stories you’ll hear are “A Rose for Emily” by Faulkner, and “Ariel’s Triumph” by Tarkington.
