Here we bring you one last spooky story for the season, saving the best for last. The Lurking Fear by HP Lovecraft. Stephen King called Lovecraft "the twentieth century's greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale." Lovecraft frequently dealt with the idea of civilization struggling against dark, primitive barbarism. Many of Lovecraft’s stories were inspired by his own nightmares. He died unknown and in poverty.
